Celebrating Indigenous Peoples Day

June 21st marked National Indigenous Peoples Day. Across Skeena’s sites and offices, we shared meals, stories and celebration to mark the day. Thank you to the team members, volunteers and community partners who made it meaningful at every location.

For example, in Dease Lake (pictured top, right), Skeena sponsored Tahltan Bingo and free wifi at our tent, as well as helping out and volunteering with the festivities. At our Eskay Creek site (pictured bottom, right), we celebrated with a delicious Indigenous meal at dinner and activities to win prizes, including an original Huey Carlick carving. In our Vancouver office, we learned from our Tahltan colleagues and enjoyed lunch from a local Indigenous caterer.

Thank you to the team members, volunteers and community partners who made it meaningful at every location.

Iskut Daze

Connecting with community at Iskut Daze

Skeena members enjoyed participating in Iskut Daze, a week long community event in July hosted by Iskut Band Council. The event featured games, craft tables, daily meals, live music, baseball and other fun activities for all ages. Thank you to Iskut Band Council, all the organizers, volunteers, and community members who made Iskut Daze so special. We are grateful for the opportunity to connect with community in the Territory.
