Nisga’a Hobiyee
Skeena was honoured to attend and participate in Hobiyee again this year, in the community of New Aiyansh. Held in February, the event was hosted by the Gitlaxt’aamiks Ceremonial Dancers and showcased their rich culture with incredible songs, dances and ceremonies.
The Skeena team had an amazing time connecting with Nisga’a community members, sharing laughs, dancing and eating delicious traditional foods. Skeena is grateful for the opportunity to sponsor breakfast for everyone that attended Hobiyee.
Dease Lake Recreation Centre
In March, Skeena sponsored the Sawtooth Predators in a hockey tournament to support the Dease Lake Recreation Centre. The weekend wasn’t just about hockey – it was about community, connection and celebration. Seeing everyone come together, whether on the ice, in the stands or just catching up with old friends, reminds us why these events are so important for our Northern communities.
